Home is where Chi O is. Our co-founder Elyce Arons is a proud Chi O alumna, and had the pleasure of connecting with students across the country for a book club where she met the ladies of Arizona’s Chi Omega chapter. This month, we sat down with them and stepped into their world of style, sisterhood, and self-expression. From timeless pieces to joyful ways of making Frances Valentine their own, discover how this next generation defines confidence, connection, and what it means to feel at home.
What Piece in your closet brings you the most joy?
Sydney Sutton – "An outfit that brings me joy to wear is a long purple dress that my mom used to wear in the 90s. She has had it saved in our basement for years, and when I was in high school she gave it to me to wear. I have worn it during family milestones, vacations, and even during recruitment during my freshman year. It is an item that bonds both me and my mom together."
What’s your favorite moment of sharing clothes or beauty tips with your sisters?
Some of our favorite moments happen in the simple, in-between times such as getting ready together before events, passing around outfit options, or sharing beauty tips at the house before heading out. Those moments reflect the heart of Chi Omega: support, connection, and confidence built together.
Which sister’s style lights you up and inspires your own?
Jayla Taft – "A sister whose style lights me up and inspires my own is Sydney Sutton! She has such a classic but unique style that has introduced me to more capsule pieces and timeless silhouettes. She always is ahead of the trends, while staying chic and classy!"
Which Chi O tradition brings out your most confident, joyful self?
Chi Omega date dashes are a tradition that occurs twice a semester, each centered around a fun, creative theme that gives everyone an opportunity to express themselves through fashion. These moments remind us that confidence comes from showing up authentically, especially when we are supported by a community that encourages connection and self-expression.
What makes an outfit feel timeless instead of just trendy?
An outfit feels timeless when it’s built on classic silhouettes, thoughtful details, and quality pieces that can be styled again and again. When something feels authentic to who you are, it naturally lasts beyond a single season. Simplicity and intention are what turn a look into something enduring rather than quickly fleeting.
What moment with your sisters has felt like a chapter you’d want written about your own college years?
The simple moments of hanging out at our chapter facility have always felt like a chapter worth writing about. With people constantly coming in and out, it is a homebase for our closest friends to meet up. It's a place there’s always laughter, conversation, and a sense of comfort. Being in the house with our sisters in Chi Omega captures a feeling of home that defines our college years.
How do you make FV your own?
Arizona Chi Omega makes Frances Valentine our own by styling pieces in a way that reflects individuality and confidence. For us, Frances Valentine is about wearing pieces that feel joyful, expensive, and authentic.
What Frances Valentine piece would make a dream recruitment outfit?
A pair of statement shoes from Frances Valentine would be our dream recruitment piece. A bold yet timeless heel or flat would instantly pull our matching outfits together, adding confidence through the long days of recruitment.
