For this month's Father's Day special installment of our In The Style Of: series, we spoke to photographer and garmentologist, Mordechai, and his wife Sara. Residing in Greenpoint, Brooklyn with their daughter Isabella, Mordechai and Sara show us their personal style.

What does style mean to you?

S: What one wears to truly feel themselves.
M: Just getting dressed really and wearing clothing that fits and works for the environment weather and setting. And of course, shocking anyone in my line of vision. 

What’s on your coffee table?

M & S: Currently a shell covered box and about 10 of Isabella's bedtime books! 

What’s hanging on your wall?

S: A beach/shell painting that Mordechai gifted me by Jesse Edwards. Thank you Jesse! 
M:  A beach/shell painting, a few paintings Sara found at flea markets along the way, and lots of Isabella’s artwork.

What can’t you live without?

S: My family.
M: I can’t live without flowers, scent and color.

What could you do without?

S: Winter.
M: Steps in the subway.

What’s the last book that you read?

S: The Mindful Mother. Anyone care to share non- mother related recs?!
M: The Grateful Dead Reader.

What’s the last song you listened to? 

M& S: "Peru" is a bit of a Rubinstein family hit these days. 

What’s the last interesting thing you saw?

S: My people of NYC.
M: An older dude with purple hair in Italy this evening.

Favorite color?

S : Blue
M: Purple

Favorite dish?

S : Spaghetti Vongole
M: Chollent

Favorite pastime?

S : Going to the beach, always.
M: Dancing

Favorite piece in your wardrobe?

S : Vintage 1950's drawstring silk pajama pants (that I wear out of the house)
M: Everything i own, be it in current rotation or in storage is a favorite.

What brings you joy?

S : Family, friends, wine, and good food. And the beach.
M: Shabbos, nice pillows, hosiery, the perfect rise and break in a trouser and a good belt.

What are you wearing?
